The Five Promises |
Hounslow's Promise is a platform for initiatives that work towards fulfilling five promises. These are commitments that we pledge as a community to meet for the young people of Hounslow.
PROMISE 1: A NETWORK OF CARING ADULTS
We need a network of caring adults and mentors around our young people.
Parents are at the centre of caring for children and need our support. However, young people also need caring adults in all aspects of their life including: in school, in the community, in their extended families.
Caring adults in a young person's life include teachers, neighbours, coaches and mentors.

PROMISE 2: SAFE SPACES AND FACILITIES
For our young people to develop intellectually and emotionally, they need to be safe and to feel safe wherever they are.
This means safety in the physical sense, but also in the emotional sense It means that young people feel free to explore and grow without fear and stress both online and offline.

PROMISE 3: SUPPORT OUR TEACHERS
Hounslow’s 1,200 teachers work incredibly hard and are becoming even more stretched. They need the support of the community behind them to be able to do their best for their students.
PROMISE 4: A HEALTHY START
Our children need a healthy start. Hounslow's Promise is committed to ensuring that children get the food, nutrition and well-being they need to get a fair start in life and to alleviate the poverty that too many children in Hounslow suffer.
PROMISE 5: YOUTH LEADERSHIP
We want to provide our young people with opportunities to help others as well as to grow up to be leaders and proud citizens who have been supported by their communities and in turn give something back.
We want our young people to be empowered to feel that they are in control of their own destiny and with that, to care for others.
