COULD YOU BE A MENTOR FOR A YOUNG PERSON IN HOUNSLOW?
Could you give just two hours a month to make the difference in the life of a young person?
The pandemic has hit young people in our communities hardest and across Hounslow there are approaching 4000 young people seeking work. As a member of the Hounslow community, we know that you have valuable skills and experiences that could be shared with a young person, potentially making the difference they need to make their next steps.
A good mentor can inspire renewed self-belief and motivation. For young people who otherwise may not have anyone to turn to and reflect on life experiences, this can make all the difference to success.
What will do you as a mentor?
Through regular meetings and mentoring sessions, you will develop a trusting and supportive relationship with the young person, offering non-judgmental advice and guidance. You will be encouraging the young person to consider future options and assist them in developing strategies to attain their goals.
You will have the opportunity to give back to their community and change a young person’s life, as well as grow your own networks and community experience.
What we expect from a mentor:
You can apply to mentor either one or two mentees, with each mentee being a commitment of up to an hour every fortnight.
